This is a view of the inside of the Woolwich Sorting office which is due to close forever on September 24th 2011. Built in the late 1800s this old building will soon be demolished to make way for the Tesco town development .
The 2012 Olympic venue on woolwich common is taking shape. It will host the shooting events and the paralympic shooting and archery. The temporary structure will seat 7,500 spectators and I believe the cost is around 42 million !!
August 18th and the demolition men are still clearing up the remains of Blue inc'. Powis street is still blocked and this causes a great deal of moans and groans because people have to take a route march to get from one end of Powis street to the other .. Scaffolders are also bracing up the T Mobile shop because the outer wall is unstable .
Wetherspoons pub, now boarded up, has become a huge notice board for local people to express their views on the rioting and Looting .. August 15th 2011 as with all the pictures..click on it once and it will enlarge slightly.. click a second time and it should pretty much fill the screen
This young lady , Julia, was one of two people living above the burnt out shop. The demolition men have retrieved some of her belongings and in the corner of this picture you can see her badly burnt passport.
At last... after the mindless violence, a sight to cheer the heart.. Young people getting together and volunteering to clean up the town centre. An oasis of sanity and goodness in a crazy world
